Audi Kuwait Launches The All-New Audi A8

Kuwait, May 8th, 2018 – Audi Kuwait, represented by Fouad Alghanim & Sons Automotive Company, launches the latest model in the Audi line-up, the all-new Audi A8. In its fourth generation Audi’s updated flagship model represents the future of the luxury class, providing the benchmark for Vorsprung durch Technik with its new design, innovative touchscreen operating concept and systematically electrified drive. The Audi A8 is also the first production automobile in the world to have been developed for highly automated driving.

Audi Kuwait recently unveiled the future of the luxury class with the launch of the all-new Audi A8. The launch took place at the new Audi Kuwait Terminal, the largest 3S terminal in the world with New Cars, Approved Cars, and the Service Center under one-roof

During the ceremony, General Manager & Dealer Principal, Tarek alShafie, said “The A8 is the flagship of the Audi brand, it is the driving force that showcases the latest technologies on offer, setting the new standards of luxury and paving the way for future developments of the complete Audi model range. The fourth generation of the A8 provides the latest reference for Vorsprung durch Technik and signals the dawning of a new design era for the entire brand, representing sporty elegance, progressive status and sophistication.”

The Audi brand is renowned worldwide for its sports appeal, lightweight construction and quattro permanent all-wheel drive, and the design of the new A8 conveys these values. The vehicle was designed with balanced proportions and beautifully muscular shapes, which are a visual expression of the quattro drive. The powerful prescence of the A8 is partially lent to the striking HD Matrix LED headlights with Audi laser lighting and the LED light strip.

The interior of the Audi A8 resembles a lavish, spacious lounge, and it has grown substantially when compared to its predecessor. The instrument panel is kept mainly clear of buttons and switches, which have been replaced with a new 10.1 inch touchscreen display. The large display is used for the MMI infotainment system and the lower display for air conditioning, comfort and text input functions, which can be controlled by touch control. Sound and haptic feedback are used to inform users of what they are clicking, allowing for a safe, intuitive and quick-to-use infotainment system.

An array of functions are now accessible using voice control, whilst the extensive Audi connect range also includes traffic sign recognition and hazard information. The optimized navigation is self-learning based on the routes driven, providing the driver with intelligent search suggestions.

The suspension of the new Audi A8 has also been updated and now includes dynamic all-wheel steering, which combines direct, sporty steering with unshakable stability. The car’s handling has become even more dynamic and precise with the sport differential.

The Audi A8 is introduced in the Middle East market with a 3.0-liter turocharged direct injection V6 gasoline engine, which produces 340 hp and develops 500 Nm of torque. It propels the A8 with its standard-fit quattro drive from zero to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds (A8 L takes 5.7 seconds) and up to an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h. Its NEDC fuel consumption is just 7.7 to 8.00 liters per 100 kilometers. This corresponds to CO2 emissions of 182 to 175 grams per kilometer for both body variants.

The engine uses a belt alternator starter, which lies at the heart of the 48-volt main electrical system. This mild-hybrid technology enables coasting with the engine switched off and a smooth restart. It also has an extended start/stop function and a high recuperation output of up to 12 kW thanks to energy recovered during braking. The combined effect of these measures is to bring down the fuel consumption of the efficient engine even further – by as much as 0.7 liters per 100 kilometers in real driving conditions.

The complete range of Audi and Audi Sport models are available for test-drives 6 days a week at the Audi Kuwait showroom, located in Shuwaikh Industrial Area – Pepsi Cola Street, during working hours from 9:00am to 1:00pm and from 4:30pm to 8:30pm Saturday to Thursday.
